Comment: If you love apocalyptic and superhero stories, this is your treat.

The first film of Avengers was brilliant. I loved it and was eagerly awaiting the sequel. My wait was not very long but it saw me getting more impatient with each passing day. Finally I have ended that impatient, anxious spell because my eyes have witnessed the spectacle. I am a fan of the superhero genre and so, if I can say it simply, this was mind-blowing!

The world is living in a post-S.H.I.E.L.D period and the Avengers have taken charge of protecting the world from anything beyond the ordinary. Loki’s sceptre once again becomes the primary object of interest, only this time it’s not Loki who’s wielding it. It has somehow fallen into the hands of a Hydra scientist, who tries to harness its power for with the sole purpose of setting all hell loose on the Avengers. His operation is prematurely shut down by the Avengers but he has left behind a pair of twins, the Maximoff’s, who have been augmented to super-humans through the power of the sceptre, as vestiges of his insidious research. Pietro (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is a blur while Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) plays brain games, which have no end till the film closes.

Stark’s and Banner’s attempt to create artificial intelligence through the sceptre gives rise to Ultron, who takes it upon himself to bring about peace on earth. Unfortunately his idea of peace doesn’t involve the Avengers, whom he sees as a threat and neither does it consider the safety of people. So, we have our band of heroes pitted against a near indestructible and unbeatable foe. There is no end to the dizzying action, the collosal destruction and the near constant sound of things falling and breaking. If you’re a person who is very health conscious then this film may not be the best for you because it could cause you dizziness and partial deafness, not to mention a tummy ache from laughing!

The plot is intense and beautiful, well-constructed and smooth. The dialogues are brilliant. I’d give them a 10 on 10. The action is exhausting but I’m sure if you’re enjoying the film, you wouldn’t be overly concerned about that. Hulk, as usual is the one to look out for. I’d rate this film very highly. It tops on all counts and wonderfully blends a variety of genres into this one compact, awesome whole. Happy Watching!
