Netflix has produced some fantastic and mind-blowing serials over the past few years. Stranger Things is one of their recent productions. It didn’t make a splash but was an awesome series (take it from someone who literally binged on it). The story was so gripping and the suspense so nerve-racking that I couldn’t rest until I had seen the next and the next and the …

The serial takes us back in time to the 1980’s, to an obscure American village where strange things begin to happen. It all starts with the disappearance of a young boy. The story builds around his mysterious disappearance and the occurrence of strange events in the village. One striking feature of this series is that the lead cast are all young kids. Needless to say, they do a fantastic job. Childhood fantasy takes on reality and voila you have a great story (hypothetically), but it doesn't stop there, it gives way to something far more sinister and creepy. This isn’t just a story about a missing boy; it has other elements as well. The pain of losing a child, a brother/sister and a friend are well brought out. The emotions that come naturally with such an occurrence, the strain of family ties, the distance between friends and relatives, the need for support and so on are brilliantly portrayed by the cast. The story was written by many writers but builds up well in the end. The scenes are realistic and well designed. However, there were a few inconsistencies with the plot but they hardly take away the sheen of its success.

I loved the series and I hope you do so too.
